Encre – Marbes (video clip)
[High Res MPEG]
[Mid. Res MPEG]
[Low Res MPEG]

The stripper today at the pub started by taking of her clothes. She continued by taking of her skin. She finished by laying her organs on the table in front of me. They were all rotten, and I was very excited. I ran away to my wife I never really loved, and we had the best sex ever. With violins in the background. I asked her to talk in French, like the striper talked (before she presented me with her tongue). It excited me even more. With a piano in the background. I asked her to whisper to me in a way that I won’t understand, she whispered in French. Just like the stripper did. With subtle drums in the background. After a while we stopped, there was no point. But the music continued. And it was grand.
Encre’s Flux was released on Clapping Music on 2004, and is definitely one of the best albums of the past few years. There post-rock electronic music is a master piece in classical proportions, and each track on this wonderful record is a wonderful creation digging deep into the mind of the listener.

A Tiny Interview with Nanuchka

A Tiny Interview with Nanuchka :: clip1xp

A short while a go I posted about Nanuchka (with some MP3s to download), and while doing that also sent them an email with a few questions. Some questions are not to be answered and some not be asked but only to have answers. A few days ago I got the reply from Yula, the lead singer and bassist. It’s not a real interview, more like some questions asked and some answers given, without any necessary connection between the two. One doesn’t really need such a connection anyway.

Do you make a living out of your music? Or maybe you work at your spare times as a librarian in a big old dusty library in the middle of no where?
You music is a concoction of flavors. Do you think music is the ultimate global unifier? Does music have a mission, or is it just there? And what are the reasons (if there are any) behind each of you?
Somethings you just can’t avoid, and the obvious seems to be one of them. So the obvious question I want to ask is what are you plans to the future? Any new releases at work? A grand world tour? Where is the best place to buy your music? Or would you recommend people to just Soulseek it?

Music to me is happiness. Like a dream or a scent it can never be completely captured or tamed and the rare moments that you think you got it are pure bliss, the rest of the time is the “trying to get there” which is lets say not the most pleasant of sensations. That’s pretty much “Why”.
Do I make money from it? Barely. Does it matter? no cause I try not to think about it and my land lord doesn’t know I live here,(kind of a squatting situation..).
I like inventing stuff and I hope that one day a fancy looking Sir will come across one of my hare brain schemes and say “Dear god , this will make millions”, and there I will be living in Italy for the rest of my life with the man I love swimming in the Mediterranean sea that will surly be environmentally safe by then, and our vine will give good fruit and ill own a bunch of ukuleles- strum strum day and night. Sounds lovely isn’’t it?
Well this is how I want my story to end and in the mean time, we are mixing a record. We are only at the first song and it has been quite a bumpy road that I cant really predict when… or where.
But the one thing I know, is that I happen to be listening to the radio and a beautiful classic piece is playing I never heard it before I don’t know who wrote it or who is playing it , but its pretty and makes me feel a bitter sweet sensation- and I thank who ever famous or anonymous composer that happened to wrote this regardless or his or her motives or aspiration,

Its just music

Its all music.

Sincerely

Yula.

Gods of the Forest and Us: Animal Collective – Feels

Gods of the Forest and Us: Animal Collective Feels :: 1723588bc

Grass Video Clip [MOV]

Spirits of the forest unite! Men has come with axes and saws to pluck us out of our home. Men has come to ruin. Men has come, so unite! Let all the floating ghosts and living ones join hands, dance and sing against the destruction. Alas, what is that? Am I delirious? Men has joined us. They sing. They dance. Around the fire camp they are just like us. They have found their place among us animals. Part of us. Part of the collective. Animal Collective.
On Feels Animal Collective stretch their theme of ghostly forest campfire dance a bit further. It’s ghostly. It got the fire. It got starry night. It got the full moon. It got haunting voices with primal sounds. It’s the essence of Animal Collective, and it’s much better then what they did until today (with exception of their Prospect Hummer EP with Vashti Bunyan which was brilliant). There are some samples of some of the songs on the record’s page at FatCat Records.

Some older videos of Animal Collective:
Who Could Win a Rabbit [MOV]
Live at the FatCat Brighton Festival Show [MOV]
Live at Old Market Brighton [MOV]

Let There be a Click: Murcof – Remembranza

Let There be a Click: Murcof Remembranza :: bay47cd3284lwRecuerdos [MP3 Sample]
Rios [MP3 Sample]
Camino [[MP3 Sample]

And at the beginning it was all landscape. And the instruments ruled the earth and the air was full of music. And all was an infinite landscape of music, stretched as far as the eye can see. And all were pleased, but god. And god looked around and wanted to make something new. And there was Glitch. And god loved Glitch. The sound of Glitch was beloved by god and pleased the lord and made him happy. And god wanted the world to be a happy and pleasing, and god wanted to share the beauty of Glitch. And god looked around onto the infinite landscapes and said: “Let there be a click”. And all halted, and a click came, a short click, and the clack of the silence followed, and all were happy and the instruments resumed their landscape. And god conducted another click, and the instruments were pleased and sang, and so on… god clicked and the instruments rejoiced. And the land was happy and lovely and I was happy.
Murcof was always a monumental artist. Every piece of music that he created during the last few years was a remarkable ground breaking achievement, and the now he shattered the spheres yet again. His new project was supposed to be a corporation with a philharmonic orchestra, but unfortunately this didn’t came to be (I can only hope that this kind of record will be created in the future). However, Murcof create a marvelous continuation to Martes, a beautiful piece both exciting and soothing.
Remembranza was released on Leaf (BAY47)on October 3rd and already reached number one on Posteverything’s sales chart.
