Manga is a form of pop culture, to bring it to the world of higher art is dangerous. First, one will have to provide the world of Manga logical depths, beside the wonderful sociological meanings it carries. Then one should be careful not to lose all that Manga has. Remember, we wish to bring Manga to museums, and not create something new, as wonderful as it might be. Chiho Aoshima managed to do these both, her Manga is both the kitschiest around, and the most complex one. It’s both surreal and popish, both scary and sweet. In other words: it’s wonderfully attractive. Oh, and she also does rooms.
